Currently, I am in the process of drawing up a business plan. I am a little confused about writing the business plan. I was wondering if I should consult a professional to help me write a business plan. Did you write your own business plan?

Well that depends on you. If you feel that you can look at the business with an unbiased viewpoint and in point form write down everything you need and how you are going to accomplish it.

For instance if you need financial assistance to get it started then write down how much and from where it will come.

You need to look at marketing, sales, time elements to accomplish what is necessary and you need to flush it up so that if you do need financial assistance you can hand it to those you are requesting financial assistance from and when they read it they can tell that you have looked at all aspects of your forthcoming business and you have set down goals and plans on how to reach those goals and have a good grasp on everything that needs to be done and how you are going to accomplish it in a set period of time.

If you can't do all that on your own then yes you should look to professional assistance in writing it up.

A business plan also is NOT just for start up but it should cover at least the first year and the goals set for each quarter of that year and the plan to reach your goals.

I know how to write the business plans and the steps I need to take for the business. I will not be borrowing any money to start my business. The problem is sitting down and writing the business plan. So I may just go with someone doing the business plan for me.

Yes, it's important to write up a business plan before starting any business. If you are having problem sitting down writing the business plan. Then you can make an appointment with yourself. LOL! OK, you can write down a time in your planner and spend that time putting together a business plan. If you do consult a professional it's still important to have some direction you want to go with the business.

I wrote my own business plan but I had help from resources. i went to the library, bought books off of amazon, and visit a lot of forums. This website is very helpful and has some sample business plans.

Did you know that you could buy business plans on eBay? I guess you really can get just about anything on eBay. I probably wouldn't buy one but some people find this method useful for a business plan. You can get a business plan for about $25.00 dollars on eBay.
