Mosler, Transporting a 2 drawer locking safe, had to panic stop to avoid another car. Broke the handle off the combination drawer. Replacement # from parts list inside locking drawers says 73402 for this handle. As I didn't tie the safe down I will need to buy this part if available and also the 2 mounting screws for the handle. I actually ony broke the screw mounting plate but I assume that it is a complete unit. Please call or e-mail contact and I will pay for this item. The American Legion is 89 years in existence. We have a Mosler Safe and over the course of the years, with the change of officers, the combination to our safe has not been successfully passed on. We have tried, unsuccessfully, to open this safe without destroying it. It was manufactured in Hamilton, Ohio. It is a Class Four Hour Fire. This inspected safe is a Fire Classification A. No. is 224228. Class T-20 Burglary.Where can we get assistance in obtaining the combination? It would be a shame to destroy such a beautiful safe, and a part of history. Contact me and I will call you for instructions to access this beautiful safe. Most sincerely,

I have an antique mosler safe it has been drilled on the front near the dial and an access hole cut in the back, I would prefer not to have this safe ruined anymore than it has, the locksmith is trying to not have to pull the dial because of the age of the safe. it has gold writting on face and acorn hinges with wooden drawers inside. Can anyone help in the opening of this. and the handle was broken off can still grap a hold of it to open, any help would be greatly appreciated to help this antique. Thank You, Rick

We have had a Mosler Safe (#462703)in our office for as many years as I can remember. However, several years back the combination just came up missing and thank goodness it was unlocked at the time. However, we would like to use the safe and need the combination in order to close it and then be able to reopen it. Any ideas of where to locate the combination for this particular safe>

Hi, Just about any safe can be broken into and put back into service by a good locksmith. There aren't going to be too many combinations and keys for Mosler safes laying around because they are gone. Get a good locksmith and he/she should be able to drill open your safe and put it back into service for you. Safeguy

Hi, I bought a Mosler Safe on Auction last year and had it shipped to me by sea..I live in the Canadian Arctic. I have just put it into the building where I will use it and I have the combination. The safe did open after a few tries, but then wouldn't again. We got it open after a few more times and tried to re set the combination as per the instructions to see if this would make it easier to open. I now have a safe with the door open but locked. I cannot get it to unlock, even when I go back to the original combination. I live 2000 miles north of any city so getting a locksmith isn't easy unless I pay $3000 for an airline ticket. What are my options? Thanks, John

All of you have probably found that Mosler filed bankruptcy in 2001 and closed.Diebold bought the assets of Mosler which included all of their records. You may be able to contact Diebold to get combinations if they were sent with the combination preset. Just be aware, most safes have had their combinations reset for one reason or another, if so the factory combination will not work. Some safes were also shipped with a factory combination (50-25-50) along with instructions on how to set the combination. If any safe has had it's combination set after it left the factory, there is no record of the combination. If this is the case, your only option is to call a qualified locksmith to open the safe, he will most likely have to drill the safe and can usually make repairs to put it back into working order. Good luck Former Mosler employee

There are special directions, even if you have the combination. I could not open my safe with the combination until I found the instructions. Here are the directions from the tag in my safe:1. Turn dial to the LEFT. Stop EXACTLY at the mark the fourth time the first number "50" has reached the mark. 2. Turn dial to the RIGHT. Stop EXACTLY at the mark the third time the second number "25" has reached the mark. 3. Turn dial to the LEFT. Stop EXACTLY at the mark the second time the third number "50" has reached the mark. 4. Turn dial slowly to the RIGHT and stop at zero. 5. After stopping at zero, continue turning dial to the RIGHT, until dial stops with locking bolt retracted. 6. Turn the drawer handle closkwise and pull the drawer open.

Hello! My parents Otis and Bonnie Brittain have both passed away and have lost the combination to the safe. Where my Dad put the number I do not know and then my mother passed way. I was cleaning their house and I found the safe, which I knew was still at their house. I have looked all threw their papers and can not find anything about the safe. I have the number from a metal tag on the front of the safe. I wasn't sure if this would help you at all. There is a sticker on the back of the safe with your info was on and some other numbers but I can't read the numbers. I'm hoping you can help me and give me a call or what I should do about giving that number out that I found on front of the safe.Thank you, Sheila Brown 972-524-1445
